RK.architecture

RK.architecture is an architecture and urban planning studio specializing in statutory planning, historic preservation, and project management – with a particular focus on Arab towns and culturally rooted environments.
Our work combines professional precision with deep sensitivity to local identity, history, and spatial justice. With extensive experience in preparing masterplans, detailed plans, and conservation documentation, we collaborate with local authorities, government ministries, and communities to promote responsible, sensitive, and feasible planning.
Our approach is grounded in connecting past and future – integrating planning logic with cultural narratives and real community needs. Whether drafting a new neighborhood plan or documenting a historical site, we aim to deliver contextual, accurate, and responsible design.
This website serves not only as a portfolio of selected projects, but also as a platform to present the planning logic, complexity, and values that guide our work.

PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT
rawan karayanni
My name is Rawan Karayanni, an independent architect and urban planner based in Israel. I specialize in historic preservation, urban development, and the management of detailed and site-specific statutory plans. I am the founder of RK.architecture, a studio focused on statutory planning, new town development, heritage conservation, and multidisciplinary project coordination – with a particular emphasis on Arab towns and culturally rooted communities.
A graduate of the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, I bring extensive experience in developing plans under both local and district planning committees, documenting culturally and religiously significant buildings, and guiding private landowners through the full planning process – including statutory coordination, preparing documents in accordance with national standards (Mabat), and facilitating meaningful public engagement.
My work bridges contemporary planning with a deep familiarity of layered histories, cultures, and communities – guided by a holistic approach that connects the physical environment with the human values that shape it.
After working for several years in leading planning offices, I have been operating independently since 2024. I view planning as a tool for spatial, social, and cultural impact – and I am committed to leading sensitive, professional, and inclusive processes in complex contexts.
